This year’s Nutcracker was excellent. The whole cast was wonderful, creating moments of incredible beauty and humour with the adorable kids. The guests artists from the National Ballet of China were an incredible addition. Yufei Wang as Snow Queen/Sugar Plum was especially captivating. You just couldn’t take your eyes off her. She made everything she did look with effortless. Zhenxuan Gao was brilliant as the Nutcracker Prince. His moves were so controlled and perfect for the roll. I am so glad that I went this year, and so look forward to next year’s program already.

I just had to say how amazing those Bon Bons were this year!! Beautiful costumes and set design.

The skill level this year far surpassed past years. Especially the Bon Bons! They were amazing and my favourite this year.

I have seen the Nutcracker over 15 times. It is my favourite ballet. This year the goh ballet performed in Vancouver an I have to say that it was incredible. The only really dissapointing part was the dance of the sugar plum ferries. The colours were a let down, the costumes were dull and the dance itself is usually so beautiful where as this was a messy jumble lacking in all of the beauty of the music offers. It is usually my favourite dance and compared to the rest of the ballet it was the least enjoyable to watch. Hopefully this is improved next year. This ballet however is worth seeing and you will leave happy.
