Virtuoso Performs Brahms

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is joined by virtuosic violinist Gil Shaham to perform Brahms' timeless and only Violin Concerto. An enduring masterpiece, the piece is famed for its technical difficulty, able to be performed by only the most skilled violinists. Following on from program opener A Child's Bright Eyes by Ian Cusson, Gil Shaham demonstrates the mastery it takes to nail it, before conductor Han-Na Chang takes the orchestra through Tchaikovsky's emotional Symphony No. 5!

Known for his flair on the instrument, Gil Shaham is a Grammy-award winning violinist and a seasoned virtuoso who has performed with many of the world's greatest orchestras, be it the London Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Russian National Orchestra or the Orchestre de Paris.
