Metric's clunky riffage and hi-hat beats are replaced by simple piano figures and subtle adornments that draw out Haines' most stirring vocal performances to date, and the muted milieu highlights her natural, sensuous whisper

Emily Haines Returns With The Soft Skeleton

Perhaps best known as the frontwoman of indie pop juggernaut Metric, Emily Haines returns to the stage under the guise of The Soft Skeleton. Reawakening the dormant project after a decade, Haines released her second solo offering Choir Of The Mind in 2017 and is due to tour the album this winter.

A heady mix of piano-led trip-hop, Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton explores Haines' fascination with femininity and strength, her distinct soprano and catchy pop hooks gliding over ethereal soundscapes, piano harmonies and hypnotic, revolving beats.
