Pixies and modest mouse hit the road together
The American rocker's Pixies and Modest Mouse are heading on their co-headlining tour with support from singer-songwriter Cat Power! The 19-city get-together will be kicking off in late summer after Pixies finish their solo tour and Modest Mouse completes their Spring shows as well as supporting Weezer.
Pixies
The band's relationships are known for being infamously tempestuous, leading to a permanent split in 1993. While Kim Deal has chosen to continue pursuing her career with The Breeders, the other three members are now firmly back together and making music, with bassist Paz Lenchantin joining them for their tours. Paving the way for the grunge scene which was to follow, their crowning glory came with 1989's Doolittle, which included the classics 'Here Comes Your Man', 'Debaser' and 'Gouge Away'.
Modest Mouse
Since 1993, Modest Mouse have been a by word for the ultimate in indie cool. With piercing and sometimes poignant lyric insights over crashing guitars, they made the mainstream with 1997's The Lonesome Crowded West but hit Platinum with 2004's Good News for People who Love Bad News that included alternative anthem 'Float On'.
